Here is a short photo dump of recent happenings.
On Saturday 19 April 2014, Lauren and I drove our bikes to the Reagan International Airport just south of downtown Washington D.C. We biked in to see the cherry blossoms, and we had a delicious falafel lunch. We then biked to Alexandria, VA, and finally back to the car.
I used my fancy new GPS watch to calculate our distance traveled and speed and to record our route. It turns out that we biked 20 miles that day. Needless to say, our bottoms were quite sore for the next few days.
Yesterday, 26 April 2014, we had our community cleanup as part of the mayor's citywide annual cleanup. Lauren did most of the organizing. We had a little more than 20 people show up to fill up large, sturdy, brown paper bags with trash and refuse from the street and sidewalks. The city sent a large truck to collect our bags. All in all we think it was a big success.

Home decorating
Lauren has long wanted globe lights hanging on our deck. We finally bought the stuff we need to set it up. Tonight we had homemade gnocchi under our globe lights. We have a pretty good set up with a tiki light acting as a post to hang off of and with zip ties holding the lights up.
